How to refill the brine tank on an eWater Standalone System
Refilling the brine tank is a simple maintenance task that ensures your eWater Standalone System continues producing cleaner and sanitiser correctly.
This guide explains when you need to refill the brine tank and how to do it safely and correctly.
When does the brine tank need refilling?
You will need to refill the brine tank when any of the following occur:
-
The Add Salt Water light is flashing
-
The Error light is red and E53 is displayed
-
The system stops producing cleaner or sanitiser
If the green Ready light continues flashing and does not become steady, the system is not producing eWater and the brine tank should be checked.
What you will need
Before you start, make sure you have:
-
1 × 500g bag of eWater Salt
-
An empty 5-litre brine tank
-
Access to clean tap water
Only use eWater Salt. Using other salts can damage the system and affect performance.
Step-by-step: How to refill the brine tank
1. Remove the brine tank
-
Locate the 5-litre brine tank beneath or near your eWater unit.
-
Disconnect it carefully and remove the lid.
2. Add the salt
-
Empty one full 500g bag of eWater Salt into the empty brine tank.
3. Fill with water
-
Fill the brine tank with clean tap water.
-
Leave a small gap at the top (do not overfill).
4. Shake to dissolve
-
Secure the lid tightly.
-
Gently shake the tank to help dissolve the salt fully into the water.
5. Reinstall the tank
-
Place the brine tank back into position.
-
Make sure the brine hose reaches the bottom of the tank.
-
Check all connections are secure.
6. Restart the system
Restart the system using either:
-
The Dispense On/Off button, or
-
The hand sensor
The system will begin cycling again.
What to look for after refilling
-
The Add Salt Water or Error light should clear
-
The green Ready light should stop flashing and become steady
-
Cleaner and sanitiser should begin dispensing normally
If the system does not recover
If the Ready light continues flashing or the system does not resume production:
